Abbott Health & Fitness Expo volunteer opportunities
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the 2017 Abbott Health & Fitness Expo on Friday, October 6 and Saturday, October 7. The Abbott Health & Fitness Expo is often the first stop for many participants, bringing months of planning and preparation to life. Be a part of the excitement by joining us and sharing the marathon experience with runners and their family and friends from around the world.
Volunteer roles and registration
Volunteers are needed for three (3) shifts each day over the two-day Expo. Click on the “more info” button below a specific role to view available shift times and to access registration. Note that you must register online in order to volunteer, and you must be available for one full shift. Please review our volunteer guidelines before registering to volunteer.
All volunteers must register online by Monday, October 2, 11:59 p.m. Unregistered individuals will not be permitted to volunteer.

Volunteers will receive a Bank of America Chicago Marathon shirt and credential to be worn during their volunteer shift. Please dress casually and wear comfortable shoes. We highly recommend that you avoid bringing valuables and larger items (bags, backpacks, etc.) to the Expo. Volunteers with bags, purses or backpacks will be required to check them at Volunteer Gear Check. The Bank of America Chicago Marathon is not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen items.
We realize that the opportunity and experience of volunteering for an event can have a positive impact on children and young adults of all ages; however, for safety reasons we require all volunteers to be 16 years of age or older on the day they volunteer. A Parent or Legal Guardian must complete registration for volunteers under the age of 18.
Please note that we do not permit children and young adults under the age of 16 to accompany registered volunteers who meet the age requirement.
Each and every volunteer plays an important role in making the Bank of America Chicago Marathon a safe, world-class experience for participants, spectators and fellow volunteers. Closer to the event, volunteers will be given more information on how they can help us achieve this goal. Your cooperation is appreciated. In the meantime, please review our volunteer guidelines.
