Runners from all 50 states and more than 100 countries travel to Chicago each fall to experience the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. Whether you’re traveling domestically, internationally or driving in from the Chicago area, we encourage you to take advantage of special offers from event hotel and travel partners.

Maritz is the official housing partner of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon, offering access to exclusive room blocks at the city’s most desirable hotels. The housing site for the 2023 Bank of America Chicago Marathon is now open. Room availability changes frequently, and we encourage you to check back later if you are not able to find reservations that match your travel plans. Attention runners: When making travel arrangements, please note that you must pick up your own participant packet (which includes your event-issued bib number and timing device) at the Abbott Health & Fitness Expo during regularly scheduled hours. Learn more about the Health & Fitness Expo.

Hilton Chicago

The Hilton Chicago is the official headquarters hotel of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. Overlooking Grant Park and Lake Michigan, the Hilton Chicago boasts 1,544 deluxe guest rooms. Ideally located on famed Michigan Avenue, and near the start and finish of the race, the Hilton Chicago is also within walking distance of Millennium Park, museums, shopping and the Loop Business District.



All participants and spectators are strongly encouraged to use public transportation race weekend. If you drive, allow sufficient time for heavy traffic congestion and street closures due to the race.

Millennium Garages

Millennium Garages offers affordable parking options for Bank of America Chicago Marathon attendees at all four convenient underground garages situated beneath Grant Park, Millennium Park and Maggie Daley Park. Purchase parking for race weekend in advance online for a discounted rate. Parking passes are valid at all four garages: Millennium Lakeside, Millennium Park, Grant Park South and Grant Park North. Individuals parking for more than one day can save up to 50% on hotel parking by purchasing Extended Stay Parking in advance. Use promo code MARATHON to save 10% on Extended Stay Parking from Thursday,  October 5 to Monday, October 9. This option is available in all four garages and includes unlimited in and out access for up to five 5 days. If you need additional days, please contact sales@millenniumgarages.com.

Please note there will be temporary road closures, but all four garages will be open on race day.  Should you have trouble reaching your purchased garages, your pass will be accepted at all of
our garages.

Chicago Transit Authority (CTA)

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) offers an economical and convenient way to get to and from Grant Park on race day. For the most up-to-date travel information and to learn how to use the CTA bus and rail system visit transitchicago.com.

Participants and spectators are encouraged to take advantage of Metra’s $7 Saturday or Sunday Day Pass good for unlimited rides on either Saturday or Sunday. In addition, the $10 Weekend Pass (available on the Ventra app only) is good for unlimited rides on both weekend days. Abbott Health & Fitness Expo attendees are encouraged to take the Metra Electric line to and from the Health & Fitness Expo. Metra Electric provides frequent service between McCormick Place and downtown.

Metra will provide extra service on the BNSF, Milwaukee District North, Union Pacific Northwest and Union Pacific West lines on Sunday, October 8. Schedules for each line are available below and online at metra.com/alternate-schedules.

South Shore Line

Participants and spectators are encouraged to take the South Shore Line to the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. The South Shore Line runs from South Bend, Indiana to Chicago with stops along the way. Please note that busing will be ongoing for passengers to stations between Carroll Ave. and Gary.

Check out Divvy Bikes – Chicago’s bike and scooter share system. Event attendees can conveniently rent a bike or scooter from one of the various docking stations located around Chicago. Divvy will operate a bike valet (for Divvy bikes only) on Michigan Avenue and Jackson Boulevard to accept bikes upon arrival to Grant Park. Participants can use the code CHIMARATHON23 in the Divvy or Lyft app and get a free ride (up to $5). The offer expires on Saturday, October 14.
