On Sunday, October 13, runners from more than 100 countries and all 50 states will converge on the streets of Chicago to take part in a journey of endurance, dedication and heart. As runners travel 26.2 miles through 29 neighborhoods, they are energized by the cheers of 1.7 million spectators and supported by the helping hands of more than 12,000 volunteers. As the race weaves through the city, we are reminded that while we are brought together from near and far, motivated by different reasons, we are united by a common goal to experience the Bank of America Chicago Marathon.

Abbott Health & Fitness Expo
The two-day Abbott Health & Fitness Expo takes place on Friday, October 11 and Saturday, October 12. It kicks off the Bank of America Chicago Marathon weekend and is free and open to the public. It includes 200 exhibitors and is where all our participants are required to pick- up their packets. Among the huge crowds are the world’s top runners and fitness enthusiasts, making this Expo a wonderful opportunity for sales and to establish your company in front of our health and fitness-minded attendees.

The virtual bag allows your coupon, flier or advertisement to reach our participants, volunteers and spectators without the cost of printing. Post-race metrics for the virtual bag will allow you to see how many people viewed, printed and shared your advertisement. 59,000+ virtual bags distributed in 2018. We are looking to build out the Virtual bag opportunity to have more touchpoints throughout the year in 2019. Once the bag goes live starting early in 2019, participants will have access the Virtual Bag at any time through their Participant Account page in our registration system. This would provide your company additional exposure, as well as, allow the offers to be more specific and targeted at various times of the year. You will have the ability to update your offer throughout the year if you would like.
