Health & Fitness Expo
The Bank of America Chicago Marathon Health & Fitness Expo includes 200 exhibitors featuring the latest products in running footwear, apparel and accessories, as well as the latest developments in sports, fitness and nutrition. The Expo is where all runners will pick up their Participant Packet, Participant Bag and technical shirt.

This piece will have a circulation of 75,000 to runners directly and through Chicago Athlete’s normal distribution areas throughout Chicagoland.
Participant Bag + Virtual Bag Opportunity (Virtual Bag addition is NEW to 2013)
The Participant Bag and Virtual Bag are your opportunity to get your product or information directly into the hands of each runner both physically and digitally. As we continue to make our race a more sustainable event, we are moving towards a plan to remove traditional paper inserts from our event participant bags. The Virtual Bag allows your coupon, flier or advertisement to reach our participants and volunteers without the cost of printing and the uncertainty of impressions. Post-race metrics for the Virtual Bag will allow you to see how many people viewed, printed and shared your advertisement.
The Virtual Bag will be available to runners and volunteers from approximately one week before and up two weeks following the race. Information about the Virtual Bag will be emailed to participants and volunteers once the bag is available as well as after the race. This gives your business the opportunity to be seen by more than 40,000 people!
By placing an item in our Virtual Bag, you will drive traffic to your business while greatly increasing your visibility among our participants, volunteers and their families.
- 43,000 physical bags assembled and distributed to all runners
- 57,000 virtual bags distributed to runners and volunteers (45,000 runners + 12,00 volunteers)
- Insert deadline is Friday, September 6, 2013 for the physical bag (detailed instructions will be sent after your order is placed online)
- Deadline for the Virtual Bag will be Friday, September 20 (information and instruction will be sent in July)

American Airlines, the Official Airline of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon, has made available a 5% discount off any applicable fare. Race participants (or families and friends) may also utilize the discount when traveling on American Airlines, American Eagle and AmericanConnection. The discount is valid only for travel that occurs from October 7-19, 2013 and may not be combined or used in conjunction with any other offer.
