Race day volunteers
Join the excitement and feel the energy of thousands of participants by volunteering at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on Sunday, October 8, 2023. Race day individual volunteer opportunities include the start corrals, information team, course marshals and Post-Race Party beer tent. Keep participants motivated and organized as they embark on their 26.2-mile journey through Chicago.
All volunteers are required to register online individually by 11:59 p.m. (U.S. Central Time) on Friday, September 29, 2023.
Aid Station
Volunteers will distribute water and Gatorade to race participants, as well as assist with the set up and clean up of the Aid Station. Volunteers must be 14 years of age or older.
Gear Check
Volunteers will work in the Gear Check facility where they will collect and organize gear check bags from participants before the race as well as returning those bags after the race. Volunteers must be 14 years of age or older.
Information team
Volunteers assist race participants, spectators and other volunteers by providing general information, answering questions and giving directions to key destinations in Grant Park. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.
Volunteer Rewards
All volunteers will receive volunteer reward points when they check-in to volunteer. Reward Points can be redeemed for a variety of merchandise items. To learn more, visit the Volunteer Rewards Program webpage.
