NEW STUDY FINDS BANK OF AMERICA CHICAGO MARATHON DELIVERS MORE THAN $253 MILLION IN BUSINESS ACTIVITY

Bank of America announced today that the Bank of America Chicago Marathon continues to be a key economic driver and contributes an estimated $253.49 million in total business activity to the Chicago economy, according to a new economic impact report. This is the first time that the economic impact of the Marathon has exceeded $250 million.

WORLD RECORD HOLDER AND OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST KENENISA BEKELE READY TO SHOWCASE HIST SPEED AT THE 2014 BANK OF AMERICA CHICAGO MARATHON
The Bank of America Chicago Marathon today announced that three-time Olympic Gold medalist, 18-time World Championship medalist and current World Record holder in the 5,000m and 10,000m, Kenenisa Bekele (ETH), will compete in his second marathon and first World Marathon Major in Chicago on October 12. In a career spanning nearly 15 years, Bekele, 32, has only raced on American soil – and always on the track – five times.

BANK OF AMERICA CHICAGO MARATHON HONORS JIM JENNESS WITH RICHARD M. DALEY AND MAGGIE DALEY AWARD
The Bank of America Chicago Marathon has recognized veteran business leader Jim Jenness as the fourth annual recipient of the Richard M. Daley and Maggie Daley Award. The award was established in 2010 to honor the Bank of America Chicago Marathon participant who raised the most funds for charity through the annual world-class event. As a member of the Mercy Home Heroes team, Jenness raised more than $81,000 for the local nonprofit, which provides children and families in need with critical programs and support.

REIGNING CHAMPIONS RITA JEPTOO AND TATYANA MCFADDEN HEADLINE THE 2014 BANK OF AMERICA CHICAGO MARATHON ELITE ATHLETE FIELD
The Bank of America Chicago Marathon today announced that defending champions Rita Jeptoo and Tatyana McFadden, fresh off of World Marathon Majors (WMM) victories in Boston, will return to Chicago to chase consecutive titles.

2014 BANK OF AMERICA CHICAGO MARATHON REGISTRANTS NOTIFIED TODAY
Today, the Bank of America Chicago Marathon announced that 45,000 entrants were selected to run the 2014 race. The field will be comprised of non-guaranteed lottery entrants and guaranteed entrants, which include time qualifiers, legacy finishers, international tour groups, and charity runners. The 37th annual event will take place on Sunday, October 12, 2014, where participants will compete on the flat and fast Chicago course.

2014 BANK OF AMERICA CHICAGO MARATHON REGISTRATION OPENS TODAY
Registration for the 2014 Bank of America Chicago Marathon opens today at noon Central Time at chicagomarathon.com. Registration will be conducted through a system of guaranteed entry options, as well as through a non-guaranteed entry lottery. The 37th annual event will take place on Sunday, October 12, and will welcome 45,000 registered participants to the flat streets of Chicago.
