Aid Station 08 volunteers
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the 2016 Bank of America Chicago Marathon! Volunteers at Aid Station 08 distribute water and Gatorade to marathon participants, as well as assist with the set-up and clean-up of the aid station. Please take a few minutes to review this webpage as well as our volunteer guidelines before registering to volunteer. We hope to see you on October 9!
The Chicago Marathon will take place on Sunday, October 9, 2016. Volunteers should arrive at Volunteer Check-In promptly at 5:30 a.m. and will finish around 12 p.m.
Aid Station 08 is located on Wells Street between Grand Avenue and Hubbard Street.
If you are ready to register, please review our volunteer guidelines and click on your group’s name to access volunteer registration. All volunteers must register by Monday October 3, or they will not be allowed to volunteer with the event. Visit the volunteer registration FAQ’s for registration assistance.
Aid Station 08 is easily accessible by public transportation. We encourage volunteers and race participants to take public transportation for a greener Chicago, and to ease race day congesetion. Please visit transitchicago.com for CTA train (“L”) or bus service and metrarail.com for Metra train service and to view re-route notices.
We realize that the opportunity and experience of volunteering for an event can have a positive impact on children and young adults of all ages; however, for safety reasons we require all volunteers to be 16 years of age or older on the day they volunteer. Please note that we do not permit children and young adults under the age of 16 to accompany registered volunteers who meet the age requirement. A Parent or Legal Guardian must complete registration for minors, volunteers under the age of 18.
Each and every volunteer plays an important role in making the Bank of America Chicago Marathon a safe, world-class experience for participants, spectators and fellow volunteers. Closer to the event, volunteers will be given more information on how they can help us achieve this goal. Your cooperation is appreciated and expected. In the meantime, please review our volunteer guidelines.
All volunteers will receive a Chicago Marathon credential and jacket to be worn during their volunteer shift. Please check the weather, dress casually and wear comfortable shoes. We recommend that you avoid bringing valuables and larger items (bags, backpacks, etc.).
