2014 Bank of America Chicago Marathon Registration FAQs
Can those selected through the lottery defer their selection to a future edition of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon?
Yes. They may defer their registered entry to the following year’s race, provided that they notify the Chicago Marathon office of their intent to defer prior to the September 8 deadline. Those who defer will not be refunded their 2014 entry fee, and will be required to claim their entry and pay the full registration fee for the 2015 race. Entries may only be deferred to the following year’s event and will expire if not used in 2015. Deferment is offered only to those selected through the public lottery or as a guaranteed legacy finisher or time qualifier and is not an option for those who registered with a guaranteed charity or tour group entry.
If someone enters the lottery and is not selected, is there a way they can still run the 2014 Bank of America Chicago Marathon?
Those who are not selected through the lottery may still register for the 2014 Bank of America Chicago Marathon by opting to run for select charities or tour groups starting on Monday, April 14.
If someone enters the lottery and is not selected this year, will that person be guaranteed entry into the 2015 Bank of America Chicago Marathon?
No. Preference for entry into the 2015 Bank of America Chicago Marathon will not be given to those not selected through the 2014 lottery.
What are the requirements of running for charity at the 2014 Bank of America Chicago Marathon?
Each charity manages its own unique charity team, runner benefits and fundraising requirements. Those interested in running for charity should directly contact the charity of their choice with any questions.
