Every 60 seconds…
the lifesaving mission of the Red Cross has benefited 250 people.
Team Red Cross is helping to save the day when disasters strike. When a neighbor’s house burns down. When someone needs a lifesaving blood transfusion. When a family needs to contact a deployed service member in an emergency. When a child needs a hug and a blanket. Team Red Cross runners support the lifesaving mission of the Red Cross in their communities, across the country and around the world.
Join Team Red Cross and you will support these lifesaving programs and services:
The Red Cross provides food, clothing and immediate shelter FREE of charge to individuals affected by disasters in your community, across the country and around the world.
Health and Safety Education
43,000 times per day, someone receives life-saving Red Cross health, safety, and preparedness training in CPR, First Aid, AED, water safety, HIV/AIDS prevention and much more!
Services to the Armed Forces
The Red Cross connects deployed service members with their families during emergencies and supports our service members through programs and briefings.
During times of war, famine and disaster, the Red Cross connects family members physically separated by tragedy. We also lead programs to get supplies and vaccinations to those that are in need.
The Red Cross provides over half of the nation’s blood supply. In fact, each day, 21,000 people receive blood transfusions from a Red Cross donor.
Team Red Cross runners have the opportunity to take advantage of benefits including:
- Complimentary race entry to the 2013 Bank of America Chicago Marathon
- Participation in the Chicago Area Runners Association (CARA) Marathon Training Program and registration as a CARA member
- Free ticket to a team banquet the day before the Marathon
